VNS Health Announces January 2027 Claims-System Transition

VNS Health will transition to a new claims system on January 1, 2027. Providers who want to use a Zelis payment option must complete enrollment by November 16, 2026. Paper claims should be sent to the new mailing address beginning December 1; providers should consult the full notice for the address and claims-processing hold timeline before changing mailing workflows. The payer ID remains 77073, electronic claims can continue through current processes, Availity remains the preferred clearinghouse, and authorization requests, status checks, disputes, grievances and appeals are unchanged. Most members retain their ID; members who previously had two IDs will have one. Verify eligibility and the current member ID at each visit. 

Why it matters 

A payer system transition can affect enrollment, claim routing and the address used for paper submissions even when clinical coverage and authorization rules are not changing. The separate dates in the notice matter: payment enrollment, paper-claim routing and the system conversion do not necessarily happen on the same day. 

What practices should do 

Before the stated deadlines, verify payment enrollment, update the paper-claim address for dates beginning December 1 and check that the claim system uses payer ID 77073 where applicable. Confirm the preferred clearinghouse and check the notice for any claim hold or conversion timing. Review member identification and do not assume the transition changes existing authorization or dispute procedures.
