Carelon Behavioral Health Transitions to Availity for Provider Enrollment 

As of May 19, 2025, Carelon Behavioral Health will implement a new provider enrollment process. All new enrollment requests for individuals, groups, or providers joining an existing group must be submitted through the Carelon Behavioral Health Payer Space on the Availity platform. This change affects how providers apply to join the Carelon network. 

Details of the New Enrollment Process 

• Enrollment via Availity: Beginning May 19, 2025, all enrollment applications must be submitted through the Carelon Behavioral Health Payer Space on Availity. This applies to: 
• Individual providers apply to join the network. 
• Group practices enrolling as a single entity. 
• Providers seeking to join an existing group within the Carelon network. 
• The Availity platform allows providers to submit applications, upload required documentation, and track the status of their enrollment. 
• Registration Requirement: Providers must be registered with Availity to access the Carelon Behavioral Health Payer Space and submit enrollment requests. Those not yet registered can create an account at www.availity.com by providing information such as their National Provider Identifier (NPI), contact details, and practice information. 

Steps for Providers 

To comply with the new enrollment process, providers should: 

1. Register with Availity: Visit www.availity.com to set up an account if not already registered. This step is required to access the enrollment system. 
2. Access the Payer Space: After registering, locate the Carelon Behavioral Health Payer Space on Availity to submit enrollment applications. 
3. Prepare Documentation: Have relevant documents ready, such as licensing information, certifications, or group practice details, for submission through Availity. 
4. Seek Support if Needed: For assistance with registration or the enrollment process, providers can access resources on the Availity website or contact the Carelon Behavioral Health support team through the Payer Space. 

Additional Information 

The Availity platform provides tools for tracking enrollment status and managing other administrative tasks, such as claims and eligibility verification. Providers must complete registration before submitting enrollment requests to avoid delays after May 19, 2025.
