Spectera Vision Network: Lincoln Financial and Solstice Member Transitions

Spectera (UnitedHealthcare Vision Network): Two New Member Transitions Providers Should Know About
Spectera, the UnitedHealthcare Vision Network, has issued provider notifications regarding two upcoming changes affecting members providers may see under the UnitedHealthcare Vision Network / Spectera Vision Network.
1. New Lincoln Financial Vision Benefit Plans — Effective September 1, 2026
Beginning September 1, 2026, Lincoln Financial will launch 20 new vision benefit plans. As a participating provider in the UnitedHealthcare Vision Network / Spectera Vision Network, practices may begin seeing members enrolled under these new plans.
Members may refer to their coverage as either Lincoln Financial or Lincoln VisionConnect®, so front-office staff should be prepared to recognize both naming conventions when patients present for services.
Spectera is advising providers to verify eligibility and benefits directly on spectera.com before rendering services, since these are newly introduced plans and coverage details may differ from other plans already on file.
2. Select Davis Vision Members Transitioning to Solstice — Effective October 1, 2026
Beginning October 1, 2026, select Davis Vision members located in Arizona, California, Florida, and New York will transition to Solstice coverage.
As with the Lincoln Financial update, providers in the UnitedHealthcare Vision Network / Spectera Vision Network may see members enrolled under this new coverage, and members may refer to their plan simply as "Solstice."
Providers are again advised to verify eligibility and benefits on spectera.com before providing services, particularly for patients in the four affected states who previously carried Davis Vision coverage, since their plan details will now be administered differently under Solstice.
Why this matters for credentialing teams:
Neither of these updates changes a provider's credentialing or network participation status directly — practices already participating in the UnitedHealthcare Vision Network / Spectera Vision Network do not need to take enrollment action.
However, both changes affect eligibility verification workflows, since patient-facing staff may encounter unfamiliar plan names (Lincoln Financial/VisionConnect®, Solstice) at check-in. Practices should:
- Brief front-desk and billing staff on the new plan names ahead of the September 1 and October 1 effective dates
- Build in an eligibility check via spectera.com as a standard step for any vision patient presenting with these plan names, to confirm active coverage and benefit details before rendering services
- For practices in Arizona, California, Florida, and New York, flag existing Davis Vision patients for coverage re-verification closer to October 1, since their benefits administration is changing
These notices were sent directly via provider email and are not currently posted on the Spectera website, so practices relying on the portal for reference may want to save this communication for their records.
