New York State Compliance Program Requirements – Action Required
We want to inform you about recent changes to New York State’s provider requirements regarding the adoption and maintenance of compliance programs. In accordance with 18 NYCRR Part 521, you are now required to have a satisfactory compliance program that meets the new state regulations. For full details, please visit this link.
Key Changes:
- Annual Certification: Upon enrollment and every year thereafter, participating providers must certify that they have adopted and implemented an effective compliance program that aligns with 18 NYCRR Part 521.
- Certification Deadline: The certification must be completed by December 31 of each year.
The goal of these compliance programs is to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse within the Medicaid program. Additionally, these programs are designed to help providers quickly and efficiently address compliance issues, while implementing systemic checks and balances to prevent future occurrences.
