Evernorth Behavioral Health Pauses New Individual and Clinic Provider Applications
What happened: As of June 1, 2026, Evernorth (Cigna's behavioral health network) has temporarily paused acceptance of new applications from individual practitioners and outpatient clinics seeking to join its behavioral health provider network. Facility-level providers — hospitals, residential programs, and partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient programs — are explicitly exempted from the pause and may continue to apply through the standard Facility Information Form process, which can take up to 90 days to complete. Evernorth states the pause is temporary and that it plans to reopen individual/clinic applications in September 2026, alongside a redesigned application and credentialing experience. Providers whose applications were already in process before June 1 will not be affected and will continue through the pipeline as originally scheduled.
