Think Cultural Health Introduces Multifactor Authentication to Strengthen Security
In response to increasing cybersecurity demands, Think Cultural Health (TCH) has implemented Multifactor Authentication (MFA) for all its e-learning programs. This new security feature, requiring users to verify their identity through multiple methods, is part of an ongoing effort to safeguard personal information and protect user accounts from unauthorized access.
The shift to MFA is being facilitated through Login.gov, a secure platform used by government and educational institutions to ensure safe logins. Starting now, when users log in to any TCH e-learning program, they will be prompted to set up their MFA details. This process involves linking their account to a secondary verification method, such as a one-time passcode sent to a mobile device or an email confirmation.
Why MFA Matters
With the rise of cyber threats and the increasing amount of sensitive data being handled online, simple password protection is no longer enough. Multifactor Authentication adds an additional layer of security, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access, even in the event of a compromised password. By requiring two or more forms of authentication—like a password and a unique code—MFA provides a more secure user experience.
This update comes during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a national initiative to raise awareness about the importance of online security. As healthcare professionals rely more on digital tools for education and patient care, ensuring that personal and professional data are protected becomes critical. Implementing MFA is one of the most effective ways to protect against cyber-attacks and keep user accounts safe.
What Users Need to Do
Setting up MFA is a quick process. When logging in, users will be guided through the steps to enable MFA. For support, TCH offers a short explainer video and the Think Cultural Health Guide for Multifactor Authentication .
